IKKS Sparkle Jacket

Oh ladies, this is one I wish you could see in person! (so come by for a peek! nudge nudge) The sequins are so amazing in that they are woven into the fabric. Such a lux look and definitely a piece you could take from day to night. The fabric is so nice to touch and moves easily - very soft. There are very subtle tucks on the shoulder giving a more feminine feel to this structured piece, without being a full on mutton sleeve. The zippers make it quite playful as well and hint of a little edge. I'd love to see this with a slim black pant, but feel it would be equally as beautiful with dark denim and a flashy boot. It will look as great layered over a high-collared blouse as with a sexy slip top. Easy to wear and a great piece to build a wardrobe on.

AMBER TEETHING NECKLACES

We are really happy to be able to offer you a great selection of Amber Teething Necklaces. There have been many request from moms and we see more and more babies sporting these. A few facts about the Amber Teething Necklaces:

• Amber is a natural analgesic and it will help calm a baby without resorting to drugs.
• Amber is a fossilized resin, not a stone, and it is warm to the touch, comfortable and light to wear.
• Wearing Baltic amber necklaces on the skin can have a soothing effect on teething babies and toddlers.
• Amber has anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties.
• In Austria, Switzerland and Germany you will find amber teething necklaces sold in local pharmacies.

Of course, safety is important! Every necklace is knotted before and after each bead so in the event it does break only one bead would come off and all remaining beads would remain intact. The clasp is made with plastic amber with a plastic screw mechanism. It is laboratory tested to release if excessive force is applied to the necklace, which ensures the highest safety. This is unlike traditional clasps used on jewelery which do not release.

Awesome new sleep sacks are in again - so perfect for the fall and winter. You probably know it is not recommended to have babies sleep with blankets. The sleep sack solves that! Super cosy and warm with lots of room to grow. I found my babies slept better in the sack as they are unable to kick off blanket, and therefor remain warm and cozy sleeping the night through. A few cute designs to choose from. Also, couldn't resist the Top Banana bunting! How fun! Great for anytime of year, but also for the last minute Halloween costume. More variety in store. Also just restocked the SOZO line of fantastic sleepers. Super girly ruffles on the tooshie of this giraffe sleeper. Don't worry, the cool baby boy designs come without! All our SOZO pjs and lounge sets are available from newborn with some styles available up to size 4. New SOCK MONKEY pjs and hooded bath towels are in. IKKS knit

Talk about stunning!

This beautiful IKKS knit top is waiting for you! It is just dreamy really. And guess what? It's washable! Always a great feature for me, but you may also dryclean it if you wish.

Super soft combo of mohair, wool, polyamide and a little acrylic too. ( The acrylic pieces from Paris are really exceptional in their wearability ) Amazing detail on the shoulder and three buttons on the back for some extra interest. I cannot believe how soft it feels. Wear it on it's own, or layer something bright underneath for a totally different look. Come check it out!

Fall in love with IKKS

Thought I'd share one of my favorite new fall items with you. This beautiful silk floral top comes with it's own tank as a foundation piece in the pretty red brick colour. It is perfect! Of course you can have some fun and trade out the layers for other colours changing the look. The small floral print is very prominent in French fashion right now. As an added bonus, it's super easy to get your coordinating pieces just right with so many colours represented in the soft fabric. You'll find soft shades of pink, many red tones, all shades of grey, khakis, black or navy hits, ivory and creams. Imagine it dressed up with accessories and a belt for polish, or a cool casual look with dark denim... imagine it as yours...

IKKS spring

Thought I'd share a couple photos to let you in on the newest arrivals! The window shot has some reflection due to the sun - but I can't possibly complain about the sun! Check out the beautiful layering pieces. Some must haves : a textured SCARF, a shorter lightweight JACKET and a lowslung BELT. Notice the different textures in all the fabrics - the interesting gathers and structure. So in LOVE with IKKS! Also another shout out to the Shirleah bags we have in. The more I check out these bags the more impressed I am! Fun linings and compartments in many of the larger styles - easy to find those keys! No black holes! Hello friends,

We wanted to be the first to tell you, our valued customers our news. It is with sadness we announce the coming closing of our Calgary Modecor location. We have been honoured to be a part of your life since 1995, but our lease is expiring at the end of February 2011.

Our owner is located in Edmonton and has made a decision to focus on family and in turn, the Edmonton store. The Edmonton Modecor location will continue to remain open for years to come.

We welcome and invite all our Calgary customers to please visit us when you find yourself in Edmonton. We’d love too see you and look forward to offering you the same excellent service you deserve, and the brands you know and love.

With a store closing comes a great sale - one you won’t want to miss! We encourage you to drop by often as there will be additional merchandise added and specials changing frequently.
